Six-week course

Walking the Wilderness

A guided expedition into your mind, patterns, relationships, and the person you’re becoming.

Introduction

There is a wilderness within all of us

A place filled with old paths, hidden trails, familiar stories, tangled thoughts, wild desires, protective instincts, provocative meanderings, unexpected beauty, and parts of ourselves we don’t yet understand and haven’t quite learned how to navigate.

Walking the Wilderness is a six-week guided expedition into that place.

You don’t need another person to tell you who to become.

You need space to hear yourself think. You need the courage to look at the paths you’ve been walking. You need curiosity about the parts of yourself you’ve learned to avoid. And you need to learn how to trust yourself when you can’t see where the trail leads.

Bring your questions. Bring your contradictions. Bring the parts of yourself you’re still trying to understand.

Artemis Wilder

This is a journey into that space. We’ll walk from there.

Who it’s for

Who It’s For

Walking the Wilderness is for the person who has a feeling there’s more to understand beneath the surface.

Understand yourself more deeply and develop greater self-awareness and self-trust

Recognize repeating patterns, overthinking, withdrawal, pursuit, avoidance, or self-sabotage

Explore fear, desire, emotion, relationships, identity, and the stories your mind creates

Distinguish intuition from fear and discover what you actually want

The Six Trails

Six weeks of guided exploration through awareness, thought, protection, emotion, relationships, and self-trust.

Awareness: Learning to See Yourself

Before you can change a pattern, you have to see it. You’ll begin learning to observe your thoughts, emotions, reactions, and patterns without immediately judging or trying to change them. You’ll create your own Wilderness Map and begin exploring the space between what happens and the story you create about what happens.

Question: What is happening inside me right now?

Observe thoughts, emotions, and reactions

Create your Wilderness Map

Trail Two

The Voice in the Trees

Thoughts, Stories and the Inner Narrator

There is a voice in the mind that narrates our experience. It interprets. Predicts. Warns. Criticizes. Protects. You’ll learn to recognize that voice without automatically giving it authority. You’ll explore the difference between what happened, what you think happened, and what you’re afraid it means.

Recognize the inner narrator

Separate events from interpretation

Your thoughts are information, not instructions

Trail Three

The Familiar Path

Patterns, Protection and Self-Sabotage

Why do we repeatedly choose things we consciously say we don’t want? Why do we procrastinate, withdraw, pursue unavailable people, overthink, or abandon our own needs? Instead of seeing these patterns as proof that something is wrong with you, you’ll begin to understand them as strategies that developed for a reason.

Meet your protective parts

Understand self-sabotage as strategy

Ask what behavior is protecting you from

The Six Trails Continued

The final three trails move from the heart into relationships and the art of becoming.

Trail Four

The Wild Heart

Emotion, Desire and Vulnerability

Now we move from the head toward the heart. What do you actually want? What are you afraid to want? What emotions have you learned to suppress? What happens when you need someone? What happens when you allow yourself to receive? You’ll explore desire, vulnerability, shame, emotional avoidance, and self-abandonment.

Practice allowing feelings to exist

Explore desire and vulnerability

Notice emotional avoidance without judgment

Trail Five

The Energy We Carry

Relationships, Connection and the Self We Bring Into the World

We don’t enter relationships empty-handed. We bring our fears, expectations, stories, boundaries, wounds, capacity to receive, and beliefs about ourselves. You’ll explore the person you become around other people and the patterns you may be recreating in your relationships.

Question: What relationship with myself am I recreating?

Notice patterns in connection and boundaries

Remain connected without abandoning yourself

Finding Your Path

Self-Trust, Surrender and the Art of Becoming

The final trail isn’t about becoming finished. It’s about learning how to walk with what you’ve discovered. You’ll explore self-trust, uncertainty, discernment, surrender, acceptance, nonattachment, decision-making, and the difference between intuition and fear. You’ll create your own Wilderness Manifesto and arrive at a final threshold with one question: What am I ready to walk toward?

Build discernment and self-trust

Explore surrender, acceptance, and intuition

Walking The Wilderness

Walking The Wilderness

This isn’t six weeks of sitting in front of a screen listening to someone tell you how to live. Each week is an experience.

Field Note, The Trail, and The Practice

A personal essay from Artemis Wilder introduces the week’s theme, followed by guided teaching and something to notice, experiment with, or experience in your own life.

The Ritual, Meditation, Journal, and Campfire

A symbolic practice, guided inner exploration, deeper journal prompts, and a space for reflection and integration at the end of each week. You’ll also receive the Wilderness Journal, your personal field journal for exploring the landscape within.

What you’ll leave with

What You’ll Leave With

Not a perfect version of yourself. Not a list of rules for how to live. Something more useful: A better relationship with yourself.

You’ll have new ways to recognize your patterns, a greater ability to observe your thoughts without automatically believing them, a deeper understanding of what your protective behaviors may be trying to accomplish, more awareness of what you actually want, a clearer understanding of the energy you bring into relationships, and a growing ability to distinguish fear from intuition, avoidance from surrender, resignation from acceptance, and self-protection from self-abandonment.

The beginnings of self-trust. Because you don’t need to see the entire trail to take the next honest step.

Philosophy

The Philosophy

You are not a problem to solve. Personal growth can quietly become another form of self-rejection. This isn’t about fixing everything that’s wrong with you. It’s about becoming curious about why you are the way you are.

Awareness comes before change. Your thoughts are information, not instructions. Your patterns developed for a reason.

You can hold two truths. You can be healing and still hurting. Self-aware and still confused. Independent and still need connection. Growing and still repeating patterns.

The Wilderness Within

And you don’t have to see the whole path. You only need to see enough of the trail to take the next honest step.

This Is Where the Trail Begins

You don’t need to know exactly where you’re going. You don’t need to have a five-year plan for your inner life. You don’t need to become fearless. You don’t need to leave the wilderness. You simply need to become willing to look. To notice. To question. To listen. To walk.
